You should consider a number of factors to be capable of determining the right size of the generator that will meet your facility’s requirements. We recommend you find out the needs of your business and the technical constraints of your facility before you proceed.

You can follow the following steps for estimating the right-sized generator for your business:
  • Calculating Your Power Requirements: You can start by making a list of devices that you plan to power with your generator. Depending on the type of business and your power needs, there are a variety of methods you can use to determine your full load capacity.
  • Determine the starting wattage and running wattage for each piece of equipment in your workplace. These figures can be found on the equipment itself, as well as in their manual.
  • Calculate your total power requirement by adding up these kW or KVA figures.
  • Power phase: You need to determine if you need single-phase or three-phase power. Most larger commercial and industrial systems require more capacity and therefore often use three-phase motors for a higher power.
  • Fuel type and efficiency
  • Noise rating: Depending on the installation site, consider the noise rating of the unit when it's running.
  • Easy service access and availability of spare parts
